Ghostwriting & Manuscript Management
Maya Angelou once said that "there is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." Yet, countless of thousands bury their stories deep within them because they cannot find an outlet for expression. It is, thus, that the greatest story ever told, is yet to be heard.
Oxbridge Researchers Ltd understands that many of you have a great story buried within but are unable to captivatingly express it. Others among you may have put pen to paper and expressed their stories only to experience the frustration of having their manuscript rejected, submission after submission. Under the directorship of Elizabeth Painter , our Ghostwriting and Manuscript Management Division will provide you with an outlet and voice for the expression of your untold story and will guide you on the path towards the publication of your manuscript. The services offered through this division are listed below and further information can be obtained by contacting Elizabeth directly or by accessing our Ghostwriting and Manuscript Management Division by clicking here.
Ghostwriting
This service is offered to individuals who have a story to tell, whether their biography or a fictional tale, but not the writing talent required for its expression. If you feel you have a story to tell, Oxbridge Researchers will listen. You will need to navigate your way to the relevant company division and fill out a brief form which gives our ghostwriters an idea of the type of story you want to convey. Your story idea will be carefully considered and the most suitable ghostwriter will be assigned to you. Over the course of several interviews, held at your convenience, your assigned ghostwriting will collect all the relevant information, particularly in cases of biography writing, and draft you a manuscript outline. Following your approval, your ghostwriting will provide you with a timeline for the completion and delivery of your book. You will receive your book in chapter by chapter installments and once completed, another round of interviews and discussions will be scheduled. During this series of interviews and discussions you will have the opportunity to critique the work and request the implementation of any changes which you deem necessary. It is only upon your expression of complete satisfaction that Oxbridge Researchers will consider itself to have delivered on its contractual obligations towards you.
Your personal ghostwriter will stay by your side until your book is completed to your utmost satisfaction ... who knows, it could well be the greatest story ever told.
Manuscript Evaluation
Have you completed your manuscript but do not know whether or not it is meets with the industry's quality standards and has market potential? If that is the case, you need our Manuscript Evaluation Service which is, itself, comprised of two interrelated, sub-services:
• Your manuscript will be assigned to one of our manuscript evaluation specialist. With several years of industry experience guiding him/her, the manuscript evaluator will read through your work and inform you whether or not it satisfies the publishing industry's basic requirements. The evaluator will provide you with a comprehensive analysis, highlighting your manuscript's weaknesses and strengths and what needs to be done to bring it up to the industry's requirements.
• Having a good and well-written manuscript is not the sole determinant of publishing potential as your manuscript's marketability plays an equally important role. A publishing market specialist will read your work and make a determination about its market potential. Our specialist will provide you with a comprehensive assessment of your manuscript's marketability, including recommendations for editorial changes designed to ensure its eventual compatibility with market demands and trends.
Manuscript Editing
Based on the reports prepared during the manuscript evaluation phase, clients have two options: 1) to implement the corrections themselves or to leave the task to one of our professional editors/writers. Should you elect to leave it in our hands, you can be assured that the end result will make you very proud and will more than satisfy any of your expectations.
Manuscript Management
Are you all set? Is your manuscript up to scratch? Then it is time to shop around for a publisher. Those among you who have beaten this path before are aware of how absolutely frustrating the experience can be. Months and months of writing and preparation end up with publishers returning your manuscripts unread, with a brief note saying that they do not accept unsolicited manuscripts or are not looking for new material. Before you give up and think that this means that your manuscript is simply `bad,' consider that J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter's The Philosopher's Stone, was rejected 9 times before it saw the light of day. Rowling's case
is not unique. V.S. Naipul, widely regarded as one of the most important living writers, had his manuscript rejected multiple times. Had he given up, he would not have gone on to win the Nobel Prize for Literature. Had Rowling given up, she would not have become one of the wealthiest authors of all time. Lesson = Do Not Give Up!
Oxbridge Researchers' team of industry specialists can give your manuscript the professional attention it needs. We will prepare your manuscript submission package, including the composition of the required cover letter, book blurb and chapter synopsis. Our specialists will also identify the publishers most likely to accept your manuscript and, on your behalf, act as the liaison between you, the author, and the publisher. Our manuscript management services can turn your dreams of literary acclaim and fame into a reality. Give yourself a chance!
